Work Placement Requirement:
Students must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work placement to fulfil the qualification criteria.

Study Requirements:

To excel in your studies, you should demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  1. Language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills
  2. Communication, documentation, and research abilities
  3. Physical capability for manual handling (particularly relevant for disability and aged care courses)
  4. Access to a laptop or desktop computer, with basic digital literacy skills
  5. For those engaging in blended or online training, intermediate computer skills are necessary. These include proficiency in tasks such as internet browsing, email communication, word processing, and using presentation software.

Workstation Setup:

Creating an ideal study environment is crucial. Ensure you have:

  • A quiet space conducive to studying with a stable internet connection
  • Necessary equipment such as a web camera, microphone, and speakers
  • A smartphone for convenient access
  • Earbuds or headphones for undisturbed audio
  • Google Classroom software installed

Please be noted that during video conferencing sessions, you’ll be required to activate your camera and microphone as needed.

This setup will facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout your training journey.

You can choose between on-campus daytime sessions or blended delivery, which includes both daytime and nighttime virtual training sessions.

This format involves eight on-campus sessions spread across an 11-month period.

Modes and Schedule for CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support:

This certificate program offers flexible study options to accommodate diverse schedules:

Virtual Training Room (Day or Night): Engage in real-time online learning with instructor-led sessions via video conferencing. Supplemental guided activities are available through the Learning Management System (eLearning).
Choose from:

  • One day per week: 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
  • One night per week: 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Note: All study modes entail additional activities, including research, reflections, and assessments via the Learning Management System (LMS)” with “Google Classroom.
